As we drove through the northern part of Iceland I watched through the car window the mountains break through the clouds as the sun slowly set. It was already after ten and the sun was still hanging in the sky. The greens of the earth were highlighted by the naples yellow in the sky. The sun wouldn’t complete its descent for another hour and a half.
Inspired, I took photos and videos to mark this moment. Something so beautiful prepared for me to see. Beauty continues on without me there. I moved quickly through the landscape, the car continuing on. Moments, clouds, mountains perfectly placed. Even with no one watching, beauty continues on. But maybe creation is simply reflecting the ever present beauty of God. Maybe if we looked we could see God in his reflections.
